We're invested in the understanding that future solutions within the Bio-Economy will need to be CIRCULAR in nature, reintegrating nutrient cycles & eliminating waste streams.
We overlay our Systems Design experience with Design Thinking perspectives to emerge with viable, relevant Projects which promote circular bio-economy in practise.
BIO-ECONOMY PROJECTS_

Algaementum is an MCL project-chapter initially dedicated to micro-algae cultivation. We're developing high-protein food & feed solutions with unique functional ingredients. More recently, we’re researching the viability & practicality of applying it as bio-fertiliser to enhance the soil micro-biome in Portugal !

CarbonNOVA is an ambitious MCL innovation which reviews Carbon not as the problematic, element is has become but rather understanding
C as an essential cornerstone of the bio-economy. We've developed a proprietary adsorption medium which captures CO2 & makes it available to an assortment of biological processes which directly serve the evolving, circular bio-economy.

AquaVerus is an MCL project dedicated to WATER. Our most important breakthrough was in 2016 with the launch of the WATER CUBE, a solar-powered device which produces pure, drinking water across a wide range of geographies by means of rapid condensation of the ambient humidity.
Whilst the current version is intended for remote community use, we’re developing a modular, commercial unit which can yield in excess of
2,000 litres/day @ less than € 0.02/litre.
